A Personalized Practice Within a Shared Space
This morning group follows the Mysore format, a way of practicing in which each person develops the practice at their own rhythm, with individual guidance and specific attention according to their needs.
The foundation of the work is the Centered Yoga sequence, the method developed by Dona Holleman. From this shared structure, the practice is progressively adapted to each student’s physical condition, experience, and personal process.

What is the Mysore Format?
The Mysore format is a traditional way of learning yoga based on individual practice within a shared group space.
Instead of following a fully guided class step by step, each student practices a shared sequence that is learned progressively, while the teacher offers personalized guidance and individual support.
This format allows students to practice with greater attention and awareness, adapt the rhythm to their own body and energy, receive individual adjustments and guidance, develop more autonomy in their practice, deepen the relationship between breath and movement, and build a practice that is more sustainable over time.
It is a format especially suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners, as it respects each person’s individual process and pace of learning.

What is Centered Yoga?
Centered Yoga is the method developed by Dona Holleman, one of the pioneering female yoga teachers in Europe. In the 1960s, she travelled to India to study directly with B. K. S. Iyengar, becoming part of a first generation of Western practitioners who devoted their lives to the study and teaching of yoga. Her approach was deeply influenced by her contact with Jiddu Krishnamurti and by her friendship and work alongside Vanda Scaravelli, both key figures in the development of a more sensitive, conscious and non-mechanical approach to yoga.
Centered Yoga focuses on understanding how movement is organized from within the body.
One of the fundamental principles of the method is to move from the center, the Hara (lower abdomen) and spine, and develop inner stability. Rather than relying on superficial effort or movement initiated from the limbs, the practice develops support, balance and coordination from the body’s central axis.
Another essential aspect of Centered Yoga is the release of unnecessary tension. The practice aims to distinguish between useful action and accumulated tension, allowing movement to become clearer, more sensitive and more efficient.
This relates to the principle of economy of effort, inspired by the Taoist concept of Wu Wei: doing less, but with greater precision and intelligence. Instead of forcing the body, the work is based on organization, direction and understanding of movement.
All of this leads to a more integrated experience of the body, where its different parts stop functioning in isolation and begin to work together as a coherent, stable and functional whole.
In this group, these principles are explored through a shared sequence in Mysore format, where each person develops the practice progressively, with individual guidance and personalized adjustments according to their body structure, experience and personal needs.
Who is this practice for?
This practice is intended both for people who want to begin yoga from a more conscious and structured foundation, and for experienced practitioners seeking a deeper understanding of movement and a less mechanical approach to practice.
Those who want to develop a personal sequence and gain greater autonomy in their practice.
People who need a practice that can adapt to injuries or physical limitations.
Those who are looking for a more personalized and progressive practice, rather than simply following the rhythm of a collective class.
Seasonal Yoga + Centered Yoga Mysore
The Monday and Thursday practices can be attended ndependently or as a complementary path, depending on each person’s needs and stage of practice.
On Mondays, in Seasonal Yoga, we explore how each season influences the body, energy, and emotional state. The practice shifts throughout the year, helping us understand and attune to natural cycles through movement, breath, and observation.
On Thursdays, in Centered Yoga in Mysore format, the work is more individual and progressive. From a shared sequence, each practitioner develops a personal practice, adapted to their body structure, breath, and natural rhythm, with individual guidance and personalized adjustments.
Although each practice stands on its own, together they offer a way to integrate the understanding of seasonal cycles from Seasonal Yoga with a more personal, precise, and sustainable practice over time.
The space, surrounded by nature
The in-person practice takes place in a traditional house in the Empordà, surrounded by nature and located near Viladamat. An environment of calm and silence that supports concentration, inner awareness, and a deep, sustainable practice, respecting each person’s rhythm and individual needs.
Viviana Ferrer
I hold a degree in Philosophy and have spent over twenty years dedicated to the study and teaching of yoga, meditation, and practices from India and China, through a path that combines direct experience, rigour, and continuous practice.
My work is centred on Seasonal Yoga, integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Tao to return to something essential: practising in connection with the cycles of nature. Not as an abstract idea, but as a concrete way of inhabiting the body, energy, and life itself.
Today, I share this practice through classes, courses, and retreats in Alt Empordà (Girona), where nature is not just a backdrop, but an active part of the learning process..
